Safety should be prioritized by everyone when using a swimming pool. When a person is not careful in or around the it, various accidents may happen. To date, drowning is the prevalent accident that always occur.

Drowning is the leading cause of their death in some states. Accidental submersion are regularly happened in residential homes. That is why different pool safety devices have been created. These are pool safety cover, pool fence, and pool alarm. It is very important to have any safety equipments installed in the backyard.

Pool Safety Cover


This cover is the common safety equipment in America. This cover is only spread when a pool is not in use. It helps to keep the child and pets away from the swimming pool. The cover is stretched and tightly anchored on the decks. A safety cover should hold a maximum weight of 400 pounds or three children. There are two types of safety covers - solid and mesh cover.

Pool Fence

A pool fence should have an automatic closing gate with a latch. When a fence has vertical slats, there should be a four inches space between so that children cannot pass their head or arms inside. Moreover, the fence must be at least 5 inches or higher to a child's weight. Safety fences come in different models that fit to the owner's requirements.

Pool Alarm
This kind of alarming device can be used alone or with a the fence. Normally, owners utilize a pool alarm if they have pool fences. Different alarms were created with various ways of functioning. A typical pool alarm is installed on the pool fences. Other alarms can detect any movement in the pool water surface.
