Getting a Pool Fence

Pool fencing is an inestimable part of pool ownership. How can you possibly have a pool without a pool fence? It is a critical safety measure, necessary for both the physical protection of your family (and other families) and the legal protection of yourself. Bear in mind that most state and local laws require fencing. Many even require some sort of lock to prevent children, etc. from wandering into your pool.

A fence is extremely important for swimming pool safety. Not only with your own children but with neighbor kids and guess you may have at your house. It is also an added bonus that unwelcome guests, both human and otherwise, are kept at bay. Also, proper pool fencing helps keep leaves and other wind-borne debris out of your swimming pool and off of your pool cover.

There are many different kinds of swimming pool fences. So if you own or are planning to own a pool, you have to make some determinations.

Step 1: find out what the local laws are regarding pool fencing. How far from the pool/edge of your property it has to be, whether it must lock (a common rule), and what it can or can't be made of.

Step 2: determine what kind of fence suits your needs. Aluminum and mesh fences provide great protection while retaining visibility. Fiberglass fences are durable, but pricier. Whatever you decide, your pool is going to be safer and more secure thanks to your legal and moral diligence. Safety fencing is important.
