There are a couple reasons you may want to consider tanked-in water to fill your swimming pool. In some areas, houses get their water from well pumps. Such systems may not be able to handle the strain of filling a swimming pool (depending on the size of your pool, you may be looking at tens of thousands of gallons for the initial water filling). It may also make sense to have a tanker truck deliver your water if you live in an area with water restrictions or high water fees. In such cases, it may actually end up being cheaper to have your water tanked in.
The cost of delivered water will vary from location to location, but according to Sunset's Swimming Pools and Spas, the average cost in the US is about $35 per thousand gallons of water.
