How to Fix Red or Brown Water

Have you noticed an unusual red or brown tint to your swimming pool water? Wonder what's causing this problem? Red or brown water is usually a result
of high iron content in your water source. You can fix this problem by using a sequestering agent or a clarifier that can control the iron levels (ask your pool
dealer or maintenance specialist for more information on these products).

Also, red or brown water can be caused by rusty pipes. This is more likely in older homes, and it can be a continuing problem, especially when you're filling
the pool at the beginning of the summer. If it's the pipes, there's not much you can do short of the replacing them.
The sequestering agent or clarifier may help though.
